Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly struck a liquor store employee with a bottle of alcohol.

Lincoln police say 20-year-old Izaiah Bartu went into Ken’s Kegs at 1350 N 48th St. around 11 a.m. Tuesday and walked out with two bottles of alcohol.

When an employee confronted him outside the store, Bartu hit him in the head with a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, police said.

A witness asked two women nearby to call 911. Neither of the women helped, and one of them grabbed a bottle and got into a car, police said.

The women – identified by police as 19-year-old Michelle Foster and 19-year-old Amy Fowlkes – were arrested for accessory to a felony and tampering with physical evidence.

Bartu was found around 5 p.m. Wednesday in a storage unit in west Lincoln. The owner of the storage unit called police, who said it’s not clear if Bartu was living in the unit or had stored items there.

Bartu was lodged for minor in possession of alcohol, robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
