Authorities arrested an armed man on numerous charges after he allegedly struggled with officers.

Lincoln police officers responded Wednesday afternoon to the Walmart on N. 27th St. after store security called in a report of a man sleeping in the bathroom for over an hour.

The man, identified by police as 47-year-old Rolin Hightree, began yelling and threatening staff when they asked him to leave, police said.

Officers found Hightree sitting in a city bus outside the store. Hightree repeatedly reached toward his waistband, where an officer saw a knife blade, and ignored officers’ commands to stop, police said.

Officers recovered a five-inch fixed bladed knife from Hightree’s pants, police said, then took him to the floor of the bus after he reportedly refused to cooperate.

Hightree was eventually subdued and arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, failure to comply, and resisting arrest.
