LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department says an officer is off work recovering after his cruiser was struck by a drunk driver.

Police say the officer was near 40th and South St. Saturday night when he slowed down for a red light and was hit from behind.

The other driver, a 21-year-old woman, smelled off alcohol and displayed symptoms of being under the influence, police say.
