LPD: Registered sex offender found trespassing
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Wednesday, Lincoln police jail someone for trespassing, only to discover they are a registered sex offender.
Just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Lincoln Police respond to a trespassing report in the 1100 block of South 17th Street.
Upon arrival, they contacted several people who did not have a right to be on the premises. Those individuals left the area, while officers made announcements that anyone else in the residence needs to leave or else they would be cited for trespassing.
The next day, officers were called to the same area around 3 a.m. for another trespassing report. They searched the residence, locating 50-year-old Nuha Farid.
Farid provided two false names to officers, but he was identified after officers took him to jail for trespassing. There, officers learned he had an outstanding warrant and was a registered sex offender who had not registered in Otoe County since 2019.
Officers cited Farid for sex offender registration, trespassing, and false information.
