Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister gave updates on the Jessica Brandon homicide case.

"We have multiple persons of interest that we are attempting to determine what role, if any, they may have in the death of Jessica Brandon," Bliemeister said. "As we go through this investigation it is clear that this was not a random act and either this residence or the individuals within were targets and there is no threat to the public."

He said police are done with the initial search of the home near 20th and Fairfield where the shooting happened, but there is still a police presence in the area.

Bliemeister said they’re remaining there in case the results of the autopsy that’s occurring Thursday leads them in a new direction in the case and requires further investigation of the crime scene.

They’re also still looking through video from both the inside and outside of the home, and the surrounding area. Bliemeister said the community has been very forthcoming with help.

He said the adults and children that were inside the home at the time are cooperating with investigators.
