LPD: Rollover accident in Sid Dillion parking lot

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A rollover accident involving a 19-year-old crashed through a Sid Dillion parking lot early Wednesday morning.

Lincoln Police responded to the crash around 2 a.m. near the intersection of 56th and “O” Streets.

Officers report finding a 2000 white Toyota Avalon coming to a rest on its side after hitting two other vehicles in the lot.

The 19-year-old driver appeared to be uninjured but refused medical attention.

The Avalon was driving west on “O” Street when the driver lost control and hit the north curb, causing it to roll over and collide with other vehicles, reports Lincoln Police.

Officers performed a field sobriety test, showing the driver had a blood alcohol content of .156, nearly twice the legal limit.

The driver was arrested for DUI, minor in possession, and negligent driving.

In 2019, the Lincoln Police Department investigated 8,700 accidents. 328 involved alcohol.
