LPD: Stolen car crashes, rolls, suspect no where to be seen

After crashing and rolling a stolen car, its thief was no where to be seen

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- On May 2, around 2:30 a.m., officers were called to a white car that had rolled over near 27th street and Cornhusker highway.

When officers arrived, they say the vehicle was unoccupied. Witnesses told police that the driver was going southbound on 27th street when they hit a barrier, then took off again.

LPD says they contacted the vehicle’s owners and they said they did not know their vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle’s owners told police that they had left their car unlocked overnight with the keys inside.

LPD says the vehicle was valued at $17,000 and is a total loss.
