LPD: Three minors burglarize Hillcrest, nearly $13K in total losses

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Monday, $9,000 in items was reportedly stolen from the Hillcrest Country Club, 9401 E O St. Lincoln Police say the perpetrators were none other than three teens.

Officers arrived at Hillcrest around 6:30 a.m. where they spoke with the manager who reported extensive damage and a missing beverage cart.

Security footage captured three males entering, damaging, and stealing multiple items- backpacks, gloves, cash, alcohol, and a beverage cart- from the business.

The video also shows the juveniles pried open a garage door to access the building, before wreaking havoc on the property.

After damaging the Pro Shop and several offices, the suspects enter the locker room area to pour lighter fluid on a desk in an attempt to set it on fire.

Shortly after the suspects disconnected several cameras.

In addition to the $9,000 in stolen goods, an estimated $4,000 in damages was caused.

According to Lincoln Police, this includes damage done to windows, doors, 40 lockers, three computer monitors, three tablets, a TV, and shaving cream being sprayed all over the locker room.

Officers say the suspects left the scene in a beverage cart, which was later found near the 15-year-old’s home.

All three suspects have been identified as a 13-year-old, 14-year-old, and a 15-year-old. They were arrested for burglary and criminal mischief, with one sent to a youth assessment center and another sent to CEDARS.
