LPD: Victims sprayed with pepper spray during attempted robbery

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — What was to be a normal Saturday night with friends quickly escalated into an attempted robbery, according to Lincoln Police.

The attempted robbery happened Saturday night at an apartment complex near S. 11th and “G” Streets. A 56-year-old female victim was at home with a 55-year-old male, waiting for a friend to arrive.

As the expected friend opened the door, he was pushed forward by two women. The women allegedly sprayed pepper spray at the victims, while demanding money.

But, the victims say the women left the apartment empty-handed.

According to the friend, he didn’t know the women and thought one of the women had been holding a knife to his back before being pushed into the apartment. However, he did not report ever seeing the knife.
