A woman was cited for theft and assault after allegedly stealing a Lincoln man’s dog and striking him in the head.
Lincoln police said a 69-year-old man reported the woman, identified by police as 46-year-old Sulathia Henry, came over to his house near 25th and Theresa St. and grabbed Honey, his 19-year-old chihuahua.
Officers later found Henry with the dog, which she said she took because she believed it was being mistreated by its owner, police said. A police official said officers found no evidence of the dog being mistreated.
Police said an altercation occurred when Henry took the dog, in which she struck the man in the side of his head. Henry was cited and released for theft and assault.
