Authorities arrested a man on felony burglary charges after a woman reported waking up to him in her bedroom.

Lincoln police officers responded Wednesday morning to the woman’s home complex in the 1600 block of Sawyer St.

The 31-year-old woman reported she woke up to a man – identified by police as 32-year-old Adris Khalaf – turning her bedroom lights on. The woman told Khalaf to leave and did so, police said.

Officers found Khalaf in the area and arrested him for felony burglary.

Police say Khalaf has a criminal history, including several recent arrests.

A day prior to his arrest for burglary, officers responded to an apartment complex in the 300 block of S. 90th St. where they reportedly found Khalaf hiding in a trash room. He was arrested that evening for criminal trespass.

That same day, officers took a report from a 24-year-old woman who said Khalaf had entered her apartment and was standing at the foot of her bed while she slept. When she woke up, Khalaf made sexual comments and rubbed her shoulders, police said.

Last July, Khalaf was arrested for first-degree sexual assault after a victim reported he forcibly assaulted her, police said. He was later found guilty of third-degree sexual assault and released in January, according to police.

Police say it is possible there are other victims connected to this string of incidents who have not made a report to the Lincoln Police Department.  They encourage anyone with information about these incidents or with information about additional, possibly unreported incidents to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000.
