LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Hands full with groceries, one man flags down a zTrip driver for a ride, only to collapse in his car.

Monday, around 1 p.m. Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to 18th and “A” Streets.

The zTrip driver said, prior to collapsing, his 56-year-old passenger explained that someone he knew had punched him earlier in the day, near 11th and “N” Streets.

It was later found that the passenger had a serious head injury, which likely led to him collapsing.

Officers say his injury is non-life-threatening, but surgery was required.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
