LSO arrests contract nurse distributing drugs at Lancaster County jail

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Sheriff’s Office arrested 44-year-old Amanda Danaekas on Friday, a contracted nurse who distributed narcotics inside the Lancaster County jail.

Danaekas works with Wellpath, a nursing service that does contract work with the jail.

The Lancaster County jail believed Danaekas to be distributing narcotics to inmates and notified LSO.  Officers served an arrest warrant at Danaekas’ apartment at 5520 Shady Creek Ct. on Friday

Officers found a glass pipe containing residue suspected of methamphetamine and 230 pills that included metformin hydrochloride, according to LSO.

LSO arrested Danaekas for possession of a controlled substance and unlawful acts by a correctional employee.
