LSO issues 30 citations to alcohol impaired drivers during holiday season

Along with other law enforcement agencies in the state, LSO took part in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. 

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – During the holiday season, officers with the Lincoln Sheriff’s Office issued 30 citations to alcohol-impaired drivers.

Along with other law enforcement agencies in the state, LSO took part in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. From Dec. 17 to Jan. 1, officers contacted a total of 101 vehicles, issued 30 citations, 96 warning/defect cards and made one criminal arrest.

During this time period, officers also issued 17 citations for speeding. Officers made one criminal arrest for a driver being in possession of a controlled substance.

To compensate officers working overtime, the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office funded the campaign with a mini-grant.
