LSO: Man arrested for child enticement, sex trafficking
The convicted sex offender was contacting young girls online and offering marijuana in exchange for sexual acts.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after an ongoing child enticement investigation by a registered sex offender.
Sheriff Terry Wagner says 42-year-old Terran McKethan was arrested Thursday afternoon near 48th and Huntington after a report in December was made by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Wagner says the already convicted sex offender was contacting young girls online using Snapchat and other forms of social media and offering marijuana in exchange for sexual acts.
The investigation shows that McKethan has used several different names on social media accounts to contact victims.
Wagner says three victims aged 14, 15, and 16 have come forward but believes there could be more.
McKethan was arrested for sex trafficking of a minor, sexual assault of a child, felony sex offender registration violation, child abuse, delivery of a controlled substance, enticing by electronic communications, and eliciting prostitution. He remains in the Lancaster County Jail.
McKethan’s original sex offense came from Dodge County, where he was convicted in 2005.
The Lancaster County Sherriff’s Office encourages anyone who may have been in contact with McKethan to come forward. Anyone with information about this case or who may know a victim of this predator is encouraged to contact Investigator Tyler Loos at firstname.lastname@example.org or 402 441 8883.
