LTU: Drivers encouraged to use caution with school back in session

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) urges drivers and pedestrians to use caution around street projects located near Lincoln schools. With classes beginning Wednesday, foot traffic will be increased.

Some projects to look out for are:

  • S. 70th and A Streets, traffic signal replacement and turn lane construction. To be completed by Aug. 21.
  • N. 61st and Adams Streets, neighborhood water main replacement. To be completed by Sept. 4.
  • S. 40th Street between Pioneers Blvd. and Gertie Ave., Lincoln On The Move street improvement project. To be completed by Sept. 11.
  • Van Dorn Street between S. 84th and S. 91st streets, Lincoln On The Move street improvement project. To be completed by Sept. 25.
  • Holdrege Street between N. 47th to N. 70th streets resurfacing project. To be completed by the end of October.
  • W. Van Dorn Street and Park Blvd., traffic signal installation and turn lane additions. To be completed by the end of November.
  • S. 56th Street and Yankee Hill Rd., safety improvement project. To be completed by the end of November.
  • Multiple water main and sidewalk projects throughout Lincoln.  Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
  • W. A Street and South Coddington Ave., neighborhood street improvement project. To be completed by summer 2021.

LTU encourages travelers to seek alternate routes if possible, and remind drivers to exercise caution around all work zones.
