LUX Centers for the Arts awards LPS students with scholarships

LUX awarded the students with the $500 scholarship, a certificate, a t-shirt, and a kit of painting and drawing supplies to take home.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – On Sunday, The LUX Center for the Arts awarded 37 LPS students with scholarships through their Art Scholar Program.

LUX awarded the students with the $500 scholarship, a certificate, a t-shirt, and a kit of painting and drawing supplies to take home. Students and their families also got to spend the day and explore the LUX while participating in art activities.

LPS art teachers awarded students based on their artistic ability and the possibility of this scholarship being transformative in their life. The scholarship provides about one year’s worth of classes at the LUX for the students.

The Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation, the Pace Woods Foundation and members of the community support the LUX Art Scholar Program through donations.
