LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Make-A-Wish Nebraska answered the wish of a six-year-old girl in North Bend, Neb., who wished for a chicken coop for the chicks she received from family and friends during her cancer treatments.

With the help of sponsors, Make-A-Wish built Aspen a playhouse for her chickens and presented it to her on World Wish Day.

Make-A-Wish Nebraska has seen a rise in unique wishes due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has limited certain wishes and trips.

“The pandemic has been particularly hard for families of children with critical illnesses. The isolation we have all felt in the last two years is what those kids and families have always experienced,” said Brigette Young, Make-A-Wish Nebraska’s CEO and president.

Donations to Make-A-Wish Nebraska can be made at wish.org/nebraska.
