Make-A-Wish Pop Star gets a celebrity surprise

Last week, Maxey Elementary student Cayden Hubbard was surprised by the Make-A-Wish Foundation to be a pop star.

Last Wednesday, the 5th grader was surprised by fellow students, Maxey staff and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  He got a celebrity-style escort (by Husker football players) to a limo.. and then a ride to local radio station, KFRX, for a quick on-air spot.  That was followed by a flight to Los Angeles to record a song at a studio, a makeover, and a meeting with “Extra” star Mario Lopez.  What Make-A-Wish and Cayden wasn't expecting was a surprise from members of the popular band, Maroon 5.

Band member and Lincoln native, James Valentine, got wind of Cayden's visit and arranged the meeting.  Not only did Cayden get to meet Adam Levine and Valentine.. he also got to sing a song with them.  Levine and Valentine also gave Cayden an autographed guitar.

Cayden has had a tumor at the base of his brain since he was in kindergarten.

The meeting was captured on video.  To see it, click on the link to KFRX's website:
