Man arrested after barricading self in child’s room

A family in north Lincoln woke up to an intruder in their home Monday morning.

It happened just before 4 a.m. near N. 14th and Morton Street.

According to Lincoln Police, the man pushed open the front door and entered a bedroom.

He barricaded himself in the room, thinking someone was after him.

Police had to fore entry into the room and found the man covered in blood, punching out the bedroom window.

A small child was sleeping in the bedroom, but police believe the man was not aware anyone else was in the room.

No one else was injured, other than the suspect. 

He was taken to the hospital and then arrested for criminal trespassing and criminal mischief. 

Police believe the man was high on some illegal substance.
