Man arrested for assaulting officer Saturday evening

A 29-year-old man was arrested late Saturday night after assaulting a police officer.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 29-year-old man was arrested late Saturday night after assaulting a police officer.

Officials said, authorities responded to a call around 7 p.m. in the 5300 block of Knox Street Saturday night. A 29-year-old man, Joshua Salazar, started to run from law enforcement and then pulled a knife on the officers. Police had to use a taser and other less lethal weapons in order to arrest the suspect and take him into custody.

He is currently being lodged at the Lancaster County Jail on several charges including assault of an officer.
