Man got two DUIs in one night, Lincoln Police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police say a man was taken into custody twice in the same night for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
At around 9:45 p.m. on Monday, 26-year-old Joshua Steckley was pulled over near 27th and E Streets in a traffic stop.
That stop ended with Steckley being taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. His blood alcohol content was .145.
Police say he was cited and turned over to someone sober, who drove him home.
About four hours later, driving the same car, Steckley crashed into a fence near 59th and Holdrege Streets.
Officials said Steckley was still intoxicated and blew a .204 BAC.
Steckley’s car was the only one involved in that crash, and he was transported to jail.
He was cited on suspicion of DUI, negligent driving and having no insurance.
