Man caught at Lincoln motel with meth, cocaine and rifle
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Authorities said they were conducting surveillance at a Lincoln motel on Monday when they saw a man dump drugs in the parking lot.
Police said 26-year-old Dylan Johnson was in the parking lot of the Super 8 near Southwest 27 and West O Streets when they witnessed suspicious behavior.
Several officers saw him dump multiple bags of marijuana on the ground.
“They contacted him, took him into custody without incident, subsequently served a search warrant in his hotel room,” Lincoln Police Capt. Ryan Dale.
Officers recovered about 1 pound of methamphetamine, one-half pound of marijuana, about 5 grams of cocaine and an AR-style rifle, police said.
This incident happened shortly after law enforcement officers shot a man across the street.
Police said those officers were conducting a narcotics investigation at the motel and were followed by the man, who shot at them.
At this time, officers won’t say if Johnson was one of the reasons they were surveilling the Super 8.
But authorities said the two events are not related.
