UPDATE: Police identify man killed in Lincoln house fire near 44th and Franklin

UPDATE: Lincoln Police have identified the victim of a deadly house fire near 44th and Franklin. 

LPD says Jerry L. Snyder, 84, of Lincoln, was killed in the fire that broke out late Wednesday night. 

Two dog were also killed in the fire.

Lincoln Police have confirmed that one man and two dogs were killed in a house fire near 44th and Franklin.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to the two-alarm fire at 11:18 p.m. Wednesday. 

When they got there, they were told by neighbors there was possibly a man who was hard of hearing inside the home. 

Fire crews attacked and contained the fire enough to get inside the house to find the man and pull him out, but life saving measures were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the identity of the man is not being released as next of kin are notified.
