LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was caught hiding in a garage Wednesday after a pursuit in western Nebraska, the Scottsbluff Police Department says.

Around 2:50 p.m., officers were looking for 35-year-old Joshua Larez, who had violated a protection order, police say.

Officers later found Larez in his vehicle and tried to pull him over near Five Rocks and Stable Club Roads in Scottsbluff.

But Larez refused to stop and drove off south toward Gering.

During the pursuit, Larez lost control of his vehicle at an intersection and rolled off the road.

Larez then got out of the car and ran away, according to police.  He was later found hiding in a nearby home’s garage.

First responders took Larez to a local hospital with injuries suffered in the crash.

He was arrested on several charges, including suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, leaving the scene of an injury accident, and possession of meth and fentanyl.
