Man sentenced after distributing child pornography on Pinterest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Chief United States District Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced a 45-year-old man to 180 months imprisonment for distributing child pornography.
Timothy E. Caruso, 45, will also serve another 14 months for a violation of supervised release, which will be served consecutive after the first sentence for distributing child pornography.
According to the press release, Caruso will be on supervised release after being released from prison.
Caruso failed to register as a sex offender after a prior conviction, which led to him being under federal supervision.
Pinterest reported an image of child pornography uploaded by Caruso after he uploaded it to a private section of Pinterest. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children traced the image back to Caruso’s google account and found his IP address.
Caruso was seeking to trade child pornography and acquire new images, according to his messages on Pinterest.
