LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was sentenced Friday to over six years in prison for selling meth in Omaha.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 45-year-old Hugo Martha-Mejia of Mexico will serve five years on supervised release after his prison sentence.

There is no parole in the federal system.

In 2020, a confidential source with the Drug Enforcement Administration met with Martha-Mejia to buy a pound of meth at an Omaha gas station.

Authorities were recording and monitoring the drug deal, according to the attorney’s office.

After the deal was made, authorities arrested Martha-Mejia.  He was later indicted by a federal grand jury.
