Man shot in overnight drive by shooting in north Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha man was taken to the hospital after being shot in a drive-by shooting overnight.
Officers arrived at the scene just before 2 a.m.
35-year-old Deric Barton was taken to Immanuel Hospital and later transferred to Bergan Mercy Medical Center for additional treatment.
Barton told officers he was driving on North 30th Street when he was shot by a person in a dark colored SUV.
The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to call Omaha Crime Stoppers at (402) 444-STOP.
Barton is expected to recover, according to police, his injuries are non-life threatening.
