Man shot multiple times, killed in workplace argument in northeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities are investigating after a man was shot multiple times in rural Cedar County.

The Nebraska State Patrol says deputies were called to a work site near the intersection of Highway 57 and 885 Road on Wednesday morning.

Deputies found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses helped deputies to try to save the man’s life.

The victim was taken to the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, where he later died.

Police think the shooting was the result of a workplace argument.

David Phillips, 20, of Kenner, Louisiana, was arrested with charges pending.

The Cedar County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the state patrol in the investigation.
