Man with alcohol, gun chased cars in east Lincoln neighborhood, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday after he was seen chasing cars in the middle of the street in east Lincoln, police say.
Around 4:40 p.m., several people called the police to report a man who was walking in the middle of the road near 52nd and L Streets.
When officers arrived, they found a 22-year-old man, who had a holstered pistol and a bottle of alcohol, in the middle of a road.
Police say an officer spotted the man trying to chase passing cars.
Officers took the man into custody, but they say he resisted when they tried putting him into a police cruiser.
The man was later found to have a previous criminal conviction, which prohibits him from carrying a gun in Lincoln, according to police.
He was then arrested on suspicion of refusing to comply with the order of a police officer.
Police also cited the man on suspicion of urinating in public, obstructing the street and possession a firearm by a prohibited person.
The man refused a Breathalyzer test at the jail, according to police.
