Mandatory evacuation order issued for Sumner due to large wildfire
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An evacuation order was issued in a small central Nebraska town.
Just after 7 p.m. on Thursday, residents of Sumner were ordered to leave their homes and head west towards Eddyville due to the Miller Fire.
According to Nebraska 511, Highway 40 just east of Sumner is closed in both directions due to the blaze.

As of 9:07 p.m., the evacuation order for residents in Sumner was lifted.
