Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach working to keep people warm as fall begins

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach is looking for donations to keep those in need warm this fall.

“As the winter season comes upon us here at Matt Talbot’s, we are always looking for donations of sleeping bags, tents, blankets, hats and gloves,” said Leanne Pelser, director of the housing and outreach program.

Pelser says many aren’t aware they can help by providing stable shelter to those experiencing a housing crisis.

“The biggest thing that the community could do to help us with those that is to help partner as a landlord or property management company,” she said.

As fall begins and temperatures drop, Pelser said helping the community is a call to action.

“Allow the person to make that decision, and give a kind smile and a warm greeting because you never know when that’s just what that person needed to move on with their day.”
