Mayor Seng Announces She Will Not Run Again For Mayor

Lincoln's Mayor Coleen Seng is saying no to a second term.

In an emotional news conference, she announced she will not run for re-election.

She says she's proud of her accomplishments, but it's time for someone new.

Seng says she's sad to end her 20-year run working for the community.

But, she feels a sense of relief knowing she won't be a part of the up-coming election.

Seng says she thinks it will be a nasty campaign.

So far, businessman and independent Roger Yant is the only person who's officially announced his candidacy for Mayor.

Republican City Councilman Ken Svoboda says he'll announce he's running later this month.

Democratic State Senator Chriss Beutler would only say he's thinking about running.

He says he'll make an announcement next week.

Republican Jon Camp says he hasn't made up his mind.

Seng says her proudest moment as Mayor were the additions to the water plant out in Ashland and the Antelope Valley Project.

She says her biggest disappointment was not being able to turn K street into a housing development.
