Missing 12-year-old boy from Lincoln found in Texas

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 12-year-old boy was found after nearly two weeks of being missing. He was found in Texarkana, Texas after leaving Lincoln with a friend’s family. One person has been arrested.
Officers filed a report on Friday, Jun 26 after the boy’s mother reported that he went to a friend’s house and never returned home.
During the investigation, officers learned the 12-year-old had gone to Texarkana. He traveled there on a bus with his friend and his friend’s mother. Officers then contacted US Marshals Metro Fugitive Task Force (MFTF) to assist with the investigation.
MTFT, US Marshals Western District of Arkansas Fugitive Task Force (WAFTF) and the Texarkana Police Department were able to locate the missing 12-year-old on July 9 around noon where they were also able to make an arrest.
Tracy Riley, 49, was arrested for violation of custody and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She is being held in Texarkana and awaiting extradition to Nebraska.
According to the US Marshals Service, the boy was found in good health.
The Lincoln Police Department are making plans to return the boy to Lincoln.
