Monday Evening Weather Update; December 7, 2020

If you enjoyed Monday’s weather you will likely enjoy Tuesday and Wednesday as southeast Nebraska goes after a couple of record high temperatures.

A couple numbers to keep in mind for the next two days – 61 and 66.  61° is the record high temperature for Tuesday, December 8.  66° is the record for Wednesday, December 9.  I think we have a good chance of tying one of those, and possibly breaking one.

TONIGHT:  Mostly clear.  Temperatures drop to the middle to upper 20°s.

TUESDAY:  Mostly sunny, turning partly cloudy by afternoon.  Temperatures top out in the lower to middle 60°s.  (Forecasting 61° for a high temperature in Lincoln.)

WEDNESDAY:  Mostly sunny and warmer.  Highs will be in the middle 60°s.  (Forecast 65° for a high temperature in Lincoln.)

There are some changes coming to southeast Nebraska later this week and weekend.  As first advertised last week, a weather system is projected to approach the area Friday.   The system will bring cooler air and the possibility of a wintry mix to the area.  The wintry mix could change over to all snow Saturday before the system exits Nebraska.

There remains much uncertainty with the system so you will want to check back for further updates.
