More than 400 birdhouses auctioned off at Lincoln fundraiser

LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) – The Nebraska History Museum held an event Friday celebrating the culmination of the Big B.A.D. Birdhouse Project.

The live auction of different birdhouses was a fundraiser for The American Institute of Architects-Nebraska and Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center.

More than 400 birdhouses were built across Lincoln.

“A lot of people don’t realize so many of our birds are declining, but there’s easy ways to help them,” said Jason St. Sauver, senior manager at Spring Creek. “And making a birdhouse or putting one up in your yard is a great way to help.”

This project is in its second year of helping to create a more beautiful and bird-friendly community.
