MS Run the US makes its way through Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- A nationwide relay made it’s way through Lincoln Saturday afternoon.

The organization holding the relay is called MS Run the US, with a goal of raising money for those suffering from multiple sclerosis.  It began in California in April, and will eventually end in New York City in Mid-August.

Each participant running the relay choses a segment of 5 to 8 days to run.

On Saturday, the runner finished his segment of Holdrege to Lincoln, ending at Seacrest Park.  The runner was presented with a proclamation signed by Lincoln’s Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird.

The next segment will begin on Sunday and go from Lincoln to Des Moines.  That segment will be ran by someone with multiple sclerosis.  She will be doing at least 10 miles a day, and other runners will be filling in to help her complete the long journey.
