Multiple Lincoln street closures beginning on Monday

Road Closed

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Starting Monday, a few streets around Lincoln will be closed for various street improvement projects.

Holdrege Street between 96th and 112th streets will be closed for water main expansion projects.

The recommended detour is 84th Street to O Street to 148th Street.

Fourteenth Street from A to South Streets, and Mulberry Street from 14th to 15th streets will also be closed starting at 8 a.m.

These projects are expected to be completed in October.  All access to homes will be maintained, but through traffic will not be allowed while construction is underway.

The road closures are a part of the six-year Lincoln on the Move street investment, which is dedicating $78 million to street improvements through 2025.

Also beginning on Monday, A Street between Southwest 24th and Southwest 27th streets will close.  They will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for utility relocation work but will be open for morning and evening rush hours.

This project is expected to be done by Saturday, April 16.  StarTran bus stops at Northwest Eighth and A Streets and Folsom Street between A and B Streets will be closed during this time as well.

The recommended detour is Coddington Avenue to Van Dorn Street to Southwest 40th Street to A Street.
