Multiple road closures expected Monday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Multiple street and sidewalk closures are expected to start Monday, May 10.

Ninth Street

Construction will begin on Ninth Street, between ‘A’ and ‘R’ Streets, for the two-phase Lincoln on the Move arterial street improvement project.

Curb lane and sidewalks will be closed for curb and ramp reconstructions, as a part of Phase One.

For Phase Two, lanes will be closed down for road repairs. The ‘N’ Street Cycle Track will also be closed at Ninth and ‘N’ Streets.

The following StarTran stops will be affected:

  • 25-Vine
  • 41-Havelock
  • 51-West A
  • 52-Gaslight
  • 54-Vet’s Hospital
  • 56-Sheridan
  • Downtown Trolley

The project is expected to be done by Sept. 3.

N 14th Street

Starting at 8 am, N 14th Street, between Vine and ‘W’ Streets, will be closed for the abandonment of a steam tunnel by the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

The following StarTran routes will be affected:

  • 24-Holdrege
  • 25-Vine

They will be detoured to Vine, N 16th, and ‘W’ Streets.

The work is scheduled to be done by June 18.
