LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A new mural is on display in Lincoln, this painting can be seen on North 27th in front of the Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach Center.

Nolan Tredway, the artist behind the new colorful mural, said it took him several months to decorate the cement and turn it into a treasure for all to see. He did have some help along the way creating the masterpiece but ultimately said  the mural is to brighten up the space and create smiles.

“We work together with some members of the neighborhood and surrounding businesses to come up with this design that sorta incorporated Matt Talbot’s mission” Tredway said.

On Saturday, the Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach Center invited the community to come look at the new mural and celebrated with ice cream and balloons.

This is Tredway’s second mural in Lincoln, the first is located in the Everett Neighborhood, and he has created several others up in Omaha. He says this is not his first painting and certainly not his last. He would like to see much of the city painted in murals.
