Nebraska announces its first flu deaths of the season
1 of the 4 victims was also infected with the virus that causes COVID-19
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services says flu activity across our state is currently elevated, and has turned deadly.
It says four people have died to date, from two different strains of the virus.
One of the victims was also infected with the virus that causes COVID-19.
Such cases have been called “flurona” as they’ve become more common worldwide.
None of these four deaths were reported out of Lancaster County.
The state says these cases originated from the Two Rivers Health Department, the Sarpy/Cass Health Department, and the Douglas County Health Department.
