Nebraska baseball demolishes Northern Colorado in final game of series

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska baseball continued its hot streak Wednesday with a win over Northern Colorado at home.
Under a light mist at Haymarket Park, the Huskers run ruled Northern Colorado for the second day in a row, winning 14-3.
The cold weather didn’t stop the Huskers’ offense, as Nebraska slammed five balls out of the park against the Bears.
A good portion of those runs came from right fielder Cole Evans and catcher Griffin Everitt, who combined for seven RBIs.
Nebraska’s pitching staff – Drew Christo, Caleb Clark, Mason Ornelas and Will Walsh – held the Bears’ offense at bay, striking out nine batters in seven innings.
And after a successful weekend, in which the Huskers took down No. 7 Vanderbilt, Nebraska has now won seven of its last eight games.
Nebraska will continue its homestand with a three-game series against Illinois State starting on Friday.
