Nebraska basketball’s Alexis Markowski invited to USA AmeriCup Trials

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Alexis Markowski will be representing the Huskers in the AmeriCup Team Trials next week in Colorado.

Markowski, a junior at Nebraska, was invited by the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee to participate in the event, which goes from May 11 to 15.

The Lincoln native was one of 22 players invited to the trials, Nebraska Athletics said in a press release Thursday.

Last season, Markowski earned second-team All-Big Ten honors.  She led the conference with 322 total rebounds, while also averaging 11.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.

Participants at the trials will help USA Basketball prepare for the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup in July.
