Nebraska Community Blood Bank announces new sweepstakes offering $500 gift cards

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) has announced a new sweepstakes before the labor day weekend.

According to NCCB, holidays are hard on blood banks because donations typically decline. Following summer shortages, NCCB’s goal is to prevent a decline.

“Holiday weekends are always challenging for the blood supply, and last Labor Day we saw a significant drop in donations, ” said Cheryl Warholoski, Executive Director of Operations at NCBB. “The need for blood doesn’t take a holiday. We’re asking our neighbors across Nebraska to make time to donate and help ensure blood is available for patients throughout the holiday weekend and into the fall.”

From Wednesday, Sept. 3 through Wednesday, Sept. 9 anyone who comes to donate will be entered for a chance to win a $500 gift card. One winner will be announced each day.
