Nebraska Community Blood Bank in dire need of donations
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) is putting out yet another call for help.
According to a recent press release, NCBB “is facing a critical challenge meeting the needs of its hospital partners.
The need for blood donors has always been constant at NCBB. But with COVID-19 limiting vital community events and the number of walk-ins they can accept, NCBB’s need for donors has skyrocketed.
“We are encouraged by the number of people who are getting vaccinated each day and look forward to the return of more donors and more blood drives,” said Kathy Geist, Senior Executive Director. “Nebraska Community Blood Bank relies on the community to help us support patients in need through blood donation.”
A small number of blood drives have been able to resume with stricter safety protocols. NCBB encourages the community to make an appointment at a blood drive or visit their donor center.
