Nebraska Correctional Center employee arrested

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A corporal at the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized communication with a committed offender.

Nicole Eliker, 40, was arrested on Wednesday. The offense is a felony.

According to Nebraska Revised Statute 83-417, “Any person who purposely or knowingly allows any committed offender to escape or, without the approval of the chief executive officer of the facility, allows any offender to be visited, conversed with, comforted, or relieved or conveys to or from any committed offender any communication or article shall be guilty of a Class IV felony.”

The person she is accused of interacting with is currently on parole supervision, said the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS).

Eliker has been employed by NDCS since August 20, 2012, her only location of employment was NCCW.

Following her arrest, Eliker resigned from her position with NDCS.
