Nebraska Department of Education releases new income restrictions for free or reduced lunch

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Department of Education released the new income guidelines for free and reduced lunch.

Families can now apply through their child’s school or childcare program. The guidelines cover breakfast, lunch and other nutritional programs for the upcoming school year.

Families who meet the income requirements can apply at any time.

Any families who receive benefits from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program (TANF) may qualify automatically.
