Nebraska football snags first 2024 recruit, a four-star athlete from Texas

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska football got its first 2024 recruit commitment on Monday.

Roger Gradney, a four-star athlete from Texas, announced his commitment via Twitter.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect plays at Rice Consolidated High School in Altair, Texas.  He had offers from UTSA and Texas Tech, according to 247Sports.

Matt Rhule and company have emphasized that the Huskers are trying to restore the Texas to Nebraska recruit pipeline, which was prevalent in the 90’s.

In Rhule’s first signing period as head coach, Nebraska secured several 2023 recruits from Texas, including Jeremiah Charles, Ismael Smith Flores and Princewill Umanmielen.
