Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen endorses Suzanne Geist for mayor
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Suzanne Geist, a state senator running for mayor, has been endorsed by Gov. Jim Pillen.
Pillen made the announcement during a press conference at the State Capitol rotunda on Tuesday.
Last week, the Lincoln Police Union endorsed Geist, who emphasized that safety is a top priority of her mayoral campaign.
She will be running against the current Lincoln mayor, Leirion Gaylor Baird, in the city election.
Gaylor Baird announced her bid for reelection back in November.
Former Husker and radio executive Stan Parker is also running to become Lincoln’s next mayor.
The mayoral primary will be held on April 4. The general election is on May 2.
