Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen signs two tax relief bills
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Gov. Jim Pillen signed two tax relief bills into law on Wednesday.
At the signing, Pillen was joined by several state senators, including Tom Briese, Joni Albrecht and Lou Ann Linehan.
Both proposals – LB 243 and LB 754 – go into effect on Thursday.
Sen. Tom Briese of Albion introduced LB 243, which changes the property tax rates for school districts and sets a 3% annual revenue growth cap.
LB 754, introduced by Linehan, will lower the income tax rate for the state’s top earners and businesses to 3.99% by 2027.
